Advent Calendar: 11th December – Merry Christmas in 15 Languages
Your Better Tuition Advent challenge today is to identify the Merry Christmases from around the world – or, to be more specific – to identify which languages are used. You can choose from French, Finnish, Icelandic, Tagalog, Swedish, Hungarian, Tahitian, Spanish, Thai, Dutch, Romanian, Cantonese, Scottish Gaelic and Danish. Advent Calendar: 7th December – spread some Christmas cheer around the world
We have a fabulously fun vocabulary activity for you today.
Vocabulary
is an extremely important aspect of education. Whether you are preparing for SATs or 11 plus/ entrance exams, your child will need to demonstrate a wide knowledge of words and their meanings. Your Better Tuition Advent challenge today combines vocabulary exercises with helping to feed hungry people from developing countries.
Freerice.com is a vocabulary quiz where every correct answer donates 20 grains of rice through the UN World Food Program to help end hunger. It’s a really fun game enjoyed by people of all ages. It adapts to your level, which means it’s never too hard and never too easy.

Advent Calendar: 5th December – Santa’s Verbal Reasoning Challenge
Santa loves our Better Tuition advent calendar so much he has created a fun Verbal Reasoning challenge for all those year five students who are busily preparing for Trafford’s Entrance Exams and for anyone who enjoys a good logic puzzle.
Each Christmas Eve, Santa’s elves must prepare the reindeer for the night to come. Santa is very particular about the order of his reindeer and has left these instructions for the elves. Can you help them by writing down the correct order?

It’s day 4 of our Advent calendar and we have a verbal reasoning challenge for you.

At Better Tuition, Urmston, we have been trying to read this weather forecast but each sentence has been shuffled. What’s more, an extra word has been added to each sentence! Can you unshuffle the sentences and identify the extra word?
