These are examples of the kind of questions your child will have to answer in grammar school entrance exams. Our Core Skills NVR Masterclass will cover the nine main types of NVR, explaining how to approach each question type.
NVR is based on visual puzzles (read more about NVR on here on our website). Many children – and their parents – feel intimidated by NVR for two main reasons. The first is that NVR is unfamiliar. Few schools will include NVR in their essential curriculum. Many parents have limited experience with NVR questions and therefore feel ill-equipped to support their children. If a child notices that their parent is nervous around NVR, they too will feel nervous – and this has a significant effect on entrance exam performance.
The second reason NVR intimidates is because of the time constraints. GL-style NVR allows just 30 seconds per question whilst CEM often allows even fewer. Everyone likes to be sure their answer is correct and we all teach our children to think carefully before answering a question – but NVR questions do not allow for too much consideration. They require confident and speedy application of knowledge and understanding – and our NVR Masterclass A: Core Skills will give your child an excellent grounding in these.

Your child may complete their masterclass anywhere there is an internet connection (or you may download the tutorials and save them to your device) and at their own pace. The masterclass need not be completed all in one sitting and we recommend spreading it out over two or more days. Each masterclass costs just £20.
