These are examples of the kind of calculations your child will have to carry out in grammar school entrance exams. Our Maths Masterclass A – Core Skills will help your child perform these calculations with ease.
The four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) underpin all maths calculations. Without a strong understanding of these, it is impossible to progress well in maths – or to pass grammar school entrance exams. Your child needs to be able to perform speedy calculations using all four operations, sometimes with very big numbers (into the millions) and sometimes with very small numbers (decimal tenths, hundredths and thousandths). S/he will also need to perform calculations using long multiplication and division.
