It’s important that your child’s tutor takes the time to get to know him/ her and builds a strong relationship.

Qualified Teachers?

YES – all our tutors have a degree and Qualified Teacher Status.

Will my child have the same teacher each week?

YES – continuity is very important.

Who will plan my child’s lessons

Your child’s tutor will do this.

We will take account of your child’s progress each week and focus on his/ her learning goals.

Does anyone oversee my child’s lessons, other than his/ her tutor?

YES – Paul and Christine oversee all lessons.

Will I meet my child’s tutor

YES– your child’s tutor will give you feedback each week on your child’s progress. We see our relationship with our tutees parents as a partnership and hope to work together for the very best outcomes.

Will my child’s tutor be very strict?

Our tutors are warm and friendly. It’s seldom necessary to correct behaviour because our students engage very well with learning, but we are firm when necessary.

Methodology

Tuition sessions should be enjoyable, enaging and enduring. Lessons should be designed to make the maximum impact on students’ progress.

How are lessons organised?

Children enjoy a mix of supported independent study and one-to-one input from their tutor.

What will my child be doing?

Lessons are broken into chunks of activity, each lasting 10 – 15 minutes. Our sessions are very intensive, so we break for five minutes in the middle of the lesson. This helps to maintain interest and concentration.

Activities

We will tailor our lessons to your child: from kinaesthetic to audio and visual learning, it really depends on his/ her individual learning style.

Homework?

YES – we will provide one or two pieces of homework each week. In addition to this, we also provide free access to an online portal which will provide additional activities to support your child in every aspect of schoolwork and exam preparation.

Progressive learning?

We identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses then set about helping them achieve their learning goals. We introduce, practice and revise.

Pen and paper-based activities?

YES

Computers?

We use these sparingly for reinforcement.

Feedback?

YES – each week, we will go through your child’s lesson plan with you and evaluate his/ her performance in the lesson. We also carry out a formal assessment every 12 weeks.

Can I contact you outside of lesson times?

You can call Paul or Christine 24/7 on 0161 748 3912 to discuss your child’s progress. This number diverts to our mobile so you can call or leave a message any time.

Do you offer additional services for entrance exam preparation?

YES – we offer monthly practice entrance exams in an external venue (£45) and Entrance Exam Masterclasses (£55).
