Creating and Encouraging Positive Attitudes Towards Disability

SandraScott@PositiveAttitudes is an inspiring new service aimed at developing positive attitudes towards disabled people.  Sandra Scott is running dynamic workshops for primary-aged children that will give them an understanding of a range of disabilities through a series of engaging activities.

Sandra is a former disability quality trainer at Stockport Cerebral Palsy Society and has a wealth of experience to bring to her workshops.  She also has achondraplasia, one of the most common forms of short limb dwarfism, which means she has experienced vile abuse both at school and as an adult.

The workshops will include an exercise which gives children experience of the difficulties experienced by children with dyslexia and Sandra will also teach youngsters how to read the braille alphabet and how to perform a song using British Sign Language (BSL).
