Week 4 [SCROLL DOWN FOR WEEKS 1, 2 & 3]

Here is a selection of the vocabulary covered in the lesson today:

rally: in tennis, a rally is when the players bat the ball backwards and forwards several times

tackle: in football, a tackle is when a player tries to take the ball from another player

bowl: in cricket, bowling is when a player throws the ball towards the player with the bat

hurdle: in athletics, a hurdle is a little fence that the runners must jump over

hurl: throw

volley: in sport, a volley is when a player kicks or hits the ball and another player kicks or hits it back before the ball bounces on the ground

span: cross
thoroughfare: walkway, path or corridor
prominent: well-known or obvious
fracture: split
aperture: opening
vault: leap
turret: a tower, usually found on a castle
beige: a shade of brown
overtake: pass
